Seventy years ago there was no electricity in rural Texoma. In fact only 4 percent of families in rural America had electricity. Today with in a flip of a switch there is dependable and economical electricity that has enabled the countryside to come alive. This dramatic change came when SWRE and her sister electric Co-ops came into being.

Today SWRE members own a multi-million dollar cooperative that serves 6,000 square miles and parts of 11 counties. But their trustees, management and employees realize true success is measured, not in miles of line or electricity sold, but in member satisfaction.
