iMap Weather Alert Available
Springtime in Oklahoma and Texas is storm and tornado season.
Southwest Rural Electric Cooperative is introducing a unique weather alerting service FREE to our members.
This alerting service, called iMap Alert, provides weather forecasts
and severe weather alerts for our specific area delivered directly to
your e-mail in-box or cell phone. It notifies you when bad weather is
headed your way so that you can plan accordingly.
Sign-up is Easy!
Features of the free iMap Alert service include seven-day forecast
e-mails that are delivered to one e-mail in-box every day before dawn
(if you choose this option).
When bad weather is in your area, you will also receive emergency
weather alerts from the National Weather Service via e-mail or a text
message to one cell phone. This service is available 24 hours a day.
Another feature of iMap Alert is the ability to check weather radar in your area.
To see area radar, you can go to www.imapweather.com, enter your physical address, and see current weather radar activity in your vacinity.
Signing up for iMap Alert is quick, easy, and FREE.
At the main page of the SWRE web site, just click on the iMap Alert
icon. You will be asked to fill out your name, address, e-mail or cell
phone, and the co-op that you are affiliated with.
That's all there is to it. It is quick, easy, and free.
OPTIONAL PACKAGE
iMap Alert also offers a premium package for $5.95 a month. This option
is perfect if you or your family memers tavel frequently. With this
premium package, you will receive all the benefits in the free package
for up to three extra e-mail addresses or three cell phones. You will
also receive six-mile lightning proximity alerts. Yo an customize the
type of alerts you would liek to receive from several, including
tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flooding, winter storms, high
winds, hurricanes, dense fog, frost, freeze, wind chill, excessive heat
and fire dangers.
In addition to all these benefits, you also receive access to a web
page portal where you can move your location anywhere in the United
States quickly and easily. So, if you are traveling to another county
or across the country, you can feel safe knowing that you will be
notified of severe weather coming your way.
